This year, we're excited to announce two contests filmmakers and schools to win cash prizes on the day of the Film Festival!
 
 
Jack Oakie Double Take Contest: Win $1000 for the film department at your school! 

The Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie Charitable Foundation’
s misson is to follow through with the late Jack Oakie's wish to "give the money to kids" by underwriting lectures on comedy and scholarships for deserving film and theater students at some fo the most prestigious institutions in the country.

Jack Oakie was the ‘master of the double-take’ and the ‘triple-take'. Watch the clip here and master the double-take or the triple-take, perform your version at the end of the festival at our booth for a chance to win $1000 for your school! 
 
 

 

TentSquare Challenge: $250 Cash Prize

TentSquare, short for “Content Square,” is an online community of creative artists and fans that actively participate on collaborative projects and in creative contests across a wide range of artistic mediums, including film, photography, music, and writing.

Submit a 15 second creative videos telling us “Why they want to be a filmmaker?"

The winning video will be screened at Los Angeles Student Film Festival and awarded the cash prize. Note: select submissions will be included in a two minute video that will be played at the festival.

The finalists for the fifth annual Los Angeles Student Film Festival have been announced! 


After receiving nearly 200 submissions from Los Angeles County high school students, our jurors have selected 37 short films that will be screened at the Fifth Annual Los Angeles Student Film Festival! Attached is a complete list of all participating films.

 

This year's festival will be held on Saturday, May 30, at the beautiful El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood and tickets are now available for the show. 


The show begins at 6:30 p.m. and is preceded by an exciting career fair that starts at 5:00 p.m. Come early to meeting industry professionals, take photos on the exclusive red carpet, and enjoy free food and entertainment!

 

Festival tickets are now available for purchase by clicking here. This year, tickets will be offered for a modest fee of $2.50 to offset event costs.
